REV. EDWARD JOSEPH SMITH

Rev. Edward Joseph Smith passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 78, at Presentation Manor, Scarborough. He was the loving son of the late Edward Francis and Catherine Smith. Rev. Smith was ordained to the priesthood on May 3, 1975, and celebrated 50 years of ordination. He will be lovingly remembered by his cousins, extended family, friends, and parishioners. Rev. Smith retired as pastor of St. Paul's Basilica in 2021. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Basilica, 83 Power St., Toronto, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
