Mike Vansevenant

Mike Vansevenant passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by his loving family at Bluewater Health. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Elly Vansevenant, and their children, Jeff and Jordan, as well as his grandchildren, Ava, Olivia, Lukas, and Noah. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Mary Vansevenant, his brother Bobby, and his in-laws, Frank and Anna, Ron, Tony, Liz, and Frank Leyten. A beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Mike will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He spent many years working at the Shell Chemical Plant and coaching kids in the Mooretown Minor Hockey Association. Mike was also an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the dock and swimming in the river. In 2017, he received a heart transplant, which allowed him to spend nine more years with his loved ones. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at the Corunna Legion on August 9, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sarnia Organ Donor Awareness Group.
