Marie-Paule (née Paquet) LACHAPELLE

Marie-Paule Lachapelle (née Paquet) passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by her family at Twin Lakes Terrace. She was the beloved wife of the late John Robert, who predeceased her in 2016, after 56 years of marriage. Marie-Paule was the dear mother of Claude (Deana) Lachapelle of Sarnia and the late Claudette Lachapelle, who predeceased her in 1981. She was a loving grandmother of Rob (Stef), Chantal (Matt), and Danielle (Allison), and a great-grandmother of Joey and Flora. Marie-Paule was predeceased by her parents, Octave and Rose-Aime Paquet, and by her 11 siblings. In 1965, Marie-Paule and her husband John moved to Sarnia from Quebec. She was a proud member of St. Thomas D'Aquin parish and proud of her French heritage. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment spent with them. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at SFH-McKenzie Blundy Chapel, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private graveside will take place in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or St. Joseph's Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
