Karen Butler DURANT

Karen Butler Durant passed away on June 30, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Doug Durant, and their children, Erin and Kate. Karen was a proud grandmother to Owen and Clea Pereira. Born in Sarnia, Karen dedicated her life to supporting children, volunteering as a Big Sister and serving as a Brownie Leader with Girl Guides of Canada. She had a rewarding career in education, teaching at St. John Bosco School in Port Colborne for over 25 years. The family is grateful for the care and compassion shown by the staff at Welland Hospital. A private family memorial service will be held at Pleasantview Funeral Home, followed by an interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will take place on September 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Pleasantview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre or a local charity of choice.
