Joan Marie POTTER

Joan Marie Potter passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family at Trillium Villa, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 91. She was predeceased in March 2026 by her husband George, to whom she was married for 43 years. Joan was the mother of Jennifer McKeage (James) and Colleen Mormino (Dan), and stepmother of Lynne Helwig and Carrie Wernert (Robert). She was a proud grandmother of Aidan (Allie), Brendan, Sara, Dan, Alex, Caitlin (Jordan), Sarah, Paige (Shane), Mitchell, and great-grandmother to Hayden and Nathaniel. Born in 1934 in Virgil, Illinois, Joan raised her daughters in Wheaton, Illinois, before moving to Sarnia, Ontario, with her husband George in 1983. The family would like to express gratitude to the Trillium Villa staff for their care. Cremation has taken place, and a private burial of ashes was held at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated. Arrangements were entrusted to Smith Funeral Home.
