Jerome Smith

Jerome Bernard Smith passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 98. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Thelma (Medd) Smith, who predeceased him in 2007. Jerome is survived by his children, Paul, Terry, and Mark, and their respective families. He is also survived by his brother, Bimbo, and sister, Aud. Jerome was predeceased by his brothers, Bud and Coonie, and a sister, Tiny. A lifelong welder and fabricator, Jerome worked at many construction sites and fabricating shops around Ontario. He was a member of U.A. Local 663 Plumbers, Pipefitters and Welders, which he joined in 1962. Jerome worked in various roles, including fabricating torpedoes for the Canadian Navy in Clinton, ON, and as a pipeline welder with the TransCanada and Trans Mountain Pipelines. He was an avid fisherman, rod maker, and fly tyer. Cremation has taken place, with inurnment to follow in the summer of 2026 at Maitland Cemetery in Goderich, Ontario. Donations may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society in his memory. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
