Hendrik "Rick" Van Veldhuisen

Hendrik 'Rick' Van Veldhuisen passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on July 3, 1934, in Ede, Holland, Rick was the beloved husband of May Violet Van Veldhuisen for 70 years. He was the son of the late Gerrit John and Margaret Van Veldhuisen. Rick had a diverse career, including working on the Lethbridge Canada Steamship Line, driving trucks, and co-founding Chemwash with Henry Nyp. He later founded Canadian Industrial Specialties and worked as a consultant before retiring to Springhill, Florida. Rick was a devoted family man, taking great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed pigeon racing, fishing, and traveling with his wife. Rick was a man of strong faith, known for his generous spirit, strong work ethic, and sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, May.
