Brendan Patrick Eamon FLEMING
Brendan Patrick Eamon Fleming passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Twin Lakes Terrace, at the age of 98. He was the son of Éamonn Fleming of Co. Laois, Ireland, and Kathleen O'Farrelly of Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland, both veterans of the Irish War of Independence. Brendan was the cherished brother of the late John R. Fleming, Cathal O'Luain, Rita O'Sullivan, and the late Andrew Fleming. He was a treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews. Brendan worked for the Fleming Fireclays and Mine company in Co. Laois, Ireland, before emigrating to Canada in 1956. He initially worked in Toronto and then moved to Sarnia, where his brother Andrew had settled. Brendan worked for 40 years with the Sarnia Parking Authority and was known for his affable manner, making many friends in Sarnia. He sang with the choir at his local Catholic Church. Brendan was predeceased by his brothers John and Andrew. He is survived by his siblings Cathal and Rita. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 390 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia. Donations to the charity of your choice may be made, with cheques accepted at the funeral home.
