Nicola Dante Avelino Roman
The family of Nicola Dante Avelino Roman of Richmond Hill, Ontario, announces his passing on October 2, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on December 1, 1938, Nicola is fondly remembered by family, friends, and all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Emilio and Madalena, and his siblings: Antonio, Achille, Raffaelle, Suora Raffaella, Giuseppe, Roberto, and Giuseppina. Nicola is survived by his grandchildren, Alessia, Michela, Julia, Christian, William, James, Joseph, Ava, and Nathan; his sisters, Caterina and Silvana; and his sisters-in-law, Lina and Grazia, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marshall Funeral Home, located at 10366 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON L4C3B8. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 10295 Yonge St, Richmond Hill, ON L4C3B9. Nicola will be repatriated and laid to rest in Italy. The family kindly requests no flowers, but donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society, with donation cards available at the funeral home.
