JIRI "GEORGE" HOLICKY

Jiri 'George' Holicky passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 7, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on April 7, 1928, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, to Josef and Maria, he was the older brother of Jara and uncle of Lucinka. He was the devoted husband of his wife, Eileen, for 76 years, and a treasured father of Garry, the late Stephen, and Jeffrey. He was also a cherished father-in-law of the late Patricia, Magdalena, Marianne, and Leslie-Ann, and an adored grandfather of Alexandra, Sarah, Stephanie, Jeffrey Jr., and Pierce. Additionally, he was an admired great-grandfather of Emmeline, Cameron, Ava, Hazel, Chloe, Maci, and Carter. After leaving for England in 1949, he immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his wife and son, Garry. He worked at Bell Canada in telephone network maintenance and retired in December 1985 after 33 and a half years. Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, located at 10366 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 14th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the funeral will be held on Friday, May 15th at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch. The burial will take place at Elgin Mills Cemetery, located at 1591 Elgin Mills Road East.
