SOPHIE DARMAGA

Sophie Darmaga (nee Siwiec) passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on August 1, 1925, in Pacanów, Swietokrzyskie, Poland, Sophie is fondly remembered by many in the Dundas St. West/Ossington community and later in the Royal York/Humbertown neighbourhood. She was predeceased by her husband Edward 'Ed' Darmaga in 2006, and her daughters Marcia French in 1998 and Janice Jackowski in 2017. Sophie is survived by her daughter Nancy Langer, her sister Stella Bajac, and her late sister-in-law Ella Siwiec. She was also predeceased by her brother Edward 'Teddy' Siwiec. Sophie was an active partner at Metro Furniture on Dundas St. West for over 40 years, and one of the original founders of The Jean Darlene Shop. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kane Jerrett Funeral Home - Thornhill (MSP).
