George JONES

George Jones passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at Fairview Suites Retirement Home, at the age of 97. Born and raised in Preston, George was a lifelong resident whose life was deeply connected to the community. He was an active member of the Preston Scout House Band and dedicated his time to volunteering at the local food bank and participating in Friday morning curling. A sports enthusiast, George enjoyed playing on various teams, with a particular passion for curling at the Galt Curling Club, where he forged many lasting friendships. A celebration of George's life will take place on Sunday, September 13th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Galt Curling Club, 1610 Dunbar Road.
