Joan Ellen Barnes

Joan Ellen Barnes of Port Perry, Ontario, passed away on September 25, 2026. She is remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Francis Barnes, as well as her parents, Gordon McLagan and Kathleen Morgan. She is survived by her children, Thomas Barnes (Wendy) and Jody Smith (Bill Abbott), along with her grandchildren, Gordon Smith (Claudia), Cori Fox (Aaron), Kathleen Cochrane (James), and Jaclyn Muir (Jim). Joan also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Charlotte Cochrane, Cameron, Benjamin Fox, and River Muir. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
