Louis SCAPILLATO

Louis Scapillato passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on August 17, 1925, in Port Colborne, he became the city's newest centenarian last year. Louis was predeceased by his wife, Joan (nee Kelso), who passed away in 2018, as well as his siblings, Jennie, Amerigo, Angelo, Mary, Angelina, Lily, and Dorothy, and his grandson, Matthew, and daughter-in-law, Donna. He is survived by his children, Michael, Cathie Smyth, Tim, Tom, and Chris, his grandchildren, Peter, Tara Ebejer, Sadie Hall, Nick, Lauren Wilson, Jade, and Louis, and great-grandchildren, Maya and Isla, Kennede, James and Olivia, Adelyn, Joel, and Naomi. Louis was a devoted family man and dedicated member of the Port Colborne community. He held many jobs in the city before working at Atlas Steels in Welland for 35 years, earning a certificate in metallurgy and retiring in 1988.
