Joyce Ann (née Deterling) Weir of Port Colborne passed away at Northland Pointe on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in her 90th year, at the age of 89. She was the beloved mother of Barbara and Glen Ford, Brenda and Marc Beauregard, and Beverly and Tim Gonyou. Joyce was predeceased by her baby brother Glen (1930); her parents Lizzie (1976) and Harry (1982) Deterling; her niece Cindy Deterling (1999); her beloved brother Gerald Deterling (2004); her husband George Weir (2016); parents-in-law Audrey and Archibald Weir; sisters-in-law Patricia and Eunice; and brother-in-law Archie. She is remembered by her brother-in-law Gerald and Paul. Joyce is survived by sister-in-law Marion Deterling and niece Jill Ianiero. She was a loving grandmother of Amanda and Eric Barrette, Dalton and Julianna Beauregard, Travis Beauregard, and partner Brooklyn Suesse. The family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Lutheran funeral service will be held in the Davidson Chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Meleg officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Garden, in the Garden of the Apostles, Hwy #20 in Fonthill. A live stream of the service will be available through the Davidson Funeral Home website. In lieu of flowers, please remember Joyce with a memorial donation to the CAMH, Liver Canada, or the Foundation for Swallowing Disorders. The family extends a special thank you to all personal care staff at Northland Pointe, especially those staffers who knew Joyce from the beginning. For all the nurturing care and love given by other staffers and Dr. Wilson. To her son-in-law Glen for his endless dedication to Joyce and for being the infinite source of support for Barb. To our family for the many meals shared at Northland Pointe with Mom over the years and to those who fed her when she could no longer feed herself.
