Alfred George THROWER

Alfred George Thrower passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Pfohl) Thrower, who predeceased him on June 12, 2015. Alfred is survived by his children, Dugan and Christina Thrower of New Hamburg, Terri Ann and Alex Forsythe of Peterborough, and Derek Thrower and Jane Halamoutis of New Dundee. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lilyane, Declan, Emma Lynn, Owen, Madison, and Mekenna, as well as his brothers, Larry and Helen Thrower of New Hamburg, Stewart and Lynne Thrower of Beamsville, Delbert and June Thrower of Belleville, and his sister, Janet and Gary Brummell of Trenton. Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Stella (Reddom) Thrower, his brother, Allan Thrower, and his sister, Dianne and Stan Fritz, as well as his in-laws, Clarence and Miriam Pfohl. Alfred worked for 40 years at J.M. Schneider in Kitchener and also had many enjoyable years working on the farm. Relatives and friends will be received in the Plattsville Chapel of the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St. N. Plattsville, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring in Union Cemetery, New Dundee. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grand River Conservation Authority Memorial Forest or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
