Betty was predeceased by her husband Jack Barham, her former husband Carl Johnston, her parents Reginald and Annie Barber, her brother William "Bill" Barber of Huff's Island, and her stepson Al. She is survived by her sons James "Jim" Johnston (married to Mary) and David Johnston (married to Gail), her grandchildren Chad Johnston and Michelle Backus (married to Peter), and her stepdaughters Sherry, Karen and Meghan.
