JOAN ELIZABETH WILSON

Joan Elizabeth Wilson (nee Biggs) passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in her 85th year. She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Yousef) and Craig (Susan), and grandchildren, Aidan, Evan (Emma), Hayley, and Ryan. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Shirley (Peter). Joan was predeceased by her parents, George Mansell Biggs and Elizabeth (Betty) Pounden Biggs; her husband, David Albert (Murray); her brothers, Jim (Norma, Pauline) and Richard (Rhondda); and her cousins and honorary sisters, Tina Norris and Dale (Cone) Patten. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Joan moved to Pembroke, Ontario in 1956 and later settled in Pickering, Ontario. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and an avid volunteer in her community. Joan will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, and love for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. A private ceremony will be held to lay Joan to rest beside her husband, Murray.
