William John SCOTT

William John Scott passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 80, after a courageous battle following a stroke on December 25, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. Mr. Scott was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 2018, as well as his parents, Bill and Mary, and brother-in-law, Bob Blackshaw. He is survived by his children, Mark, Steven, and Melissa, and his grandchildren, Morgan, Rylan, and Trevor. He is also survived by his brother, Doug, and niece, Susan. Throughout his career, Mr. Scott worked at OMC for 30 years, followed by positions at AON and MPAC. He was an active community member and a proud member of the Peterborough Masonic Lodge 155, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and the Royal Arch of Freemasonry. The family is grateful for the care and support Mr. Scott received at Lakefield Extendicare and PRHC, and they appreciate the frequent visits from friends and family. A memorial visitation will be held at Highland Park Funeral Centre on May 12, followed by a service on May 13. A private interment will take place at Little Lake Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the PRHC Foundation.
