William Guthrie

William Guthrie, lovingly known as Bill, passed away on August 2, 2026, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Arthur and Betty Guthrie and the husband of the late Jean Guthrie. Bill is survived by his sons, Joseph and Ronald, and his grandchildren, Elena, Natalie, Megan, and Alex, whom he cherished as Papa. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Linda and Liz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, his extended family in Scotland, and close friend Marlene. The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Matheson, Dr. McIsaac, Dr. Melicharkova, and the nurses in palliative care for their compassionate support. A visitation will be held at the Nisbett Funeral Home on August 11, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00, followed by a service and reception. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Make-A-Wish Canada, the Peterborough Humane Society, or a charity of one's choice.
