William "Bill" OGILVIE

William "Bill" Ogilvie passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by his family. Born on May 14, 1934, in Ottawa to Alberta and Walter Ogilvie, Bill graduated with a B.S.C in Agriculture from McDonald Campus of McGill University in 1956, where he met his wife, Sybil Rhona Ogilvie, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. After working at Imperial Tobacco, he earned an M.B.A. from Western University in 1961 and dedicated 33 years to Quaker Oats of Canada. Bill retired to his cherished farm in 1994, where he enjoyed being a gentleman farmer for over 50 years. He was an elder at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church and a charter member of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church. Bill is survived by his wife Rhona, daughter Leslie (David McDermott), sons Doug, Bruce (Andrea), and Andy, along with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will take place on September 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Highland Park Funeral Centre in Peterborough.
