Shirley Etta Agnes Law (née Crawford) died peacefully on July 1, 2026, in St. Albert, Alberta, at the age of 93. She was born on December 20, 1932, in Toronto, Ontario, to the late William and Ella Maude Crawford (née Shortt) and spent her childhood on the family farm near Rosseau, Ontario. Proud of her Icelandic heritage, she valued the resilience, community, and family it embodied. A graduate of the Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, she earned a Public Health Nursing certification from the University of Toronto in 1957 and pursued a career marked by compassion and professionalism. Through her brother she met Jack Law; they married on June 6, 1959, later divorced, and together raised four children: David, Peter, Paul and Karen. She was a devoted grandmother to Jennifer, Rayanne, Ryan, Jason, Chase, Skyler, Logan and Dillan, and a great‑grandmother to McKenna, Mason, Luca and Allie. Her brother Bruce Crawford survives her; she was predeceased by her brother Ray Crawford in 2025. She was also an aunt and great‑aunt to many nieces and nephews. Shirley lived and worked in Peterborough, Ontario, creating memories at the family cottage in Muskoka before moving west in 1990. She resided in Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary and ultimately settled in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Funeral arrangements are with Serenity Funeral Services.
