Olive (née Mather) GIBSON

Olive Gibson passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband, Bob, and her companion, Howard Vaughn. Born in 1928 on a farm at Mathers Corners, Ontario, Olive was the middle daughter of Charles and Ferne Mather. She is survived by her children, Jacquie and Jeff, as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Olive worked in Calgary, Toronto, and Peterborough, where she met her husband Bob at a badminton league. They lived in Burlington, Ontario for 13 years before returning to Peterborough. After Bob's passing in 1998, Olive became active at Mark Street United Church, where she met her friend Howard Vaughn. They enjoyed many years of travel together. Olive lived at the Westwind Condos for 20 years before moving to Royal Gardens retirement home, where she continued to be active until her passing. The family extends gratitude to those who cared for Olive in her final days.
