Mr. Michael Steven Joseph Burns (Mike)

Michael Steven Joseph Burns passed away in Peterborough, Ontario on May 22, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on May 22, 1956, in Whitehorse, Canada, Mike grew up in Bridgenorth, Ontario, and attended school in Peterborough. He was the beloved son of John Burns and Barbara Burns (Adams). He shared 38 years of life, love, and partnership with Bonnie O'Brien (McLean), building a family and a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and quiet dedication. Mike was a devoted father to Kristopher Michael Burns and his wife Shannon, Marc Justin John Burns and his wife April, and Erica Dianne O'Brien and her partner Dan. He was also a proud grandfather to Dylan and Tyler, Hunter and Riley, and Olivia and Madison, all of whom brought him great pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, David and Gregory, along with extended family, friends, and all who knew him. Mike worked as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic and was happiest when working with his hands or spending time outdoors.
