John Banister

The family of John Banister of Peterborough, Ontario, announces his passing on September 4, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on January 11, 1928, John is remembered fondly by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his children, Jean (late Terry Hosford) and Jeffry, as well as his parents, Geoph and Doris. John is survived by his wife, Paula Banister; his daughter, Theresa (Chris James); his daughter-in-law, Wendy; his former wife, Norma; grandchildren Amanda, Amy Mallary (Dave), Carsen (Emily), and Andrea (Dan); great-grandchildren Will (Kate), Alyssa, Kieran, Ronan, Rowan, Poppy, and Addison; and great-great-grandchildren Myla and Brody. A graveside service will take place on September 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at Ashburnham Funeral Home from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Breakfast Club of Canada.
