Ivon "John" David LEE
Ivon "John" David Lee was born on March 10, 1935, in Centre Dummer and died peacefully on August 22, 2026, at Hospice Peterborough, aged 91. He was the husband of June McDonald and the father of Kathy (Tom), Larry (Kerry), John (Cheryl), Dan (Pat) and Pam (Bill). He is survived by his grandchildren Lisa, Amy, Dallas, Candace, Jake, Brandon, Steven, Nicole and Julia; great‑grandchildren Linnea, Alynah, Owen, Keyonah, Trey, Jameson, Jackson and Julien; and great‑great‑grandchild Dante. He is also survived by his siblings Nancy Vandenberg (Willie), Beverley Smith and Dale Davidson (Garnet). Predeceased were his parents Dave and Beatrice (Rusaw) Lee, siblings Jim, Linda and Barb, and grandchildren Tim and Angel. John’s career included work for G.E. and the construction of family homes in Centre Dummer, Round Lake and Stoney Lake Road, as well as farming in those areas. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar, often with his sisters and cousins. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Havelock United Church, 10 Ontario Street, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Susan Sweet‑Lebeau and a reception on the church’s lower level.
