Idonia "Dee" Sandra (née Dunford) YOUNG

Idonia 'Dee' Sandra Young passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 87. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Cauline Cox and her husband Dale, John Dunford and his wife Linda, and Charlie Dunford and his wife Jessie. Donee was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Violet Dunford, her husband Cyril Young, her life companion John Coughlin, and her siblings Dorothy, Beatrice, Betty, Doug, Max, Robert, and Gary. Born into a family of 13, Donee spent her early years on Stony Lake before moving to Lakefield and Peterborough, where she worked various jobs and enjoyed activities such as knitting, playing games, and picking berries. After moving to Extendicare 17 years ago, Donee remained active, taking on a role in the laundry room and socializing with fellow residents. A visitation will be held at Hendren Funeral Homes - Lakefield Chapel on July 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on July 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. and inurnment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Douro. A reception will be held at the Lakefield Legion, and donations may be made to a charity of choice through the funeral home's website or by phone.
