Gerard (Gerry) Armstrong

Gerard Gerry Armstrong of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on December 14, 1932, in Peterborough, Gerry spent much of his life in East City, where he developed a lifelong love for the community. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Kitty Armstrong, in 2008, after 54 years of marriage. Gerry is survived by his children, Daniel, Douglas, and David, and their spouses, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Lucas. Gerry had a strong work ethic and was dedicated to his community, working at The Peterborough Examiner for over 45 years and later as an usher at the Peterborough Memorial Centre for 35 years. The family is grateful for the care provided by the doctors and nurses at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, the staff at Peterborough Manor, and Hospice Peterborough. A funeral service will be held on August 28, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Church, followed by inurnment at Little Lake Cemetery and a reception at the Peterborough Navy Club.
