Cecil "Speedy" SHAMKONG

Cecil 'Speedy' Shamkong passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family at his side on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 78. Three days earlier, he had celebrated his 78th birthday with his loved ones on June 22, 2026. Speedy is lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret, of 52 years; his children, Augustus, Charmaine, and Felix; and his niece, Judy. He is cherished by his siblings Yin Ping, Yin Mei, Kwong Lap, Amanda, Andrew, Yin Chai, and Charlie, and predeceased by his sibling Yin Yee. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Desmond, Wing Ching, Dig Got, Jang Wan, Ming, Janice, Abby, Albert, Wilfred, James, Amelia, Alexander, Flora, Molly, and Michael, and predeceased by Mary, Kelvin, Kam Pang, Joan, and Alexander. Speedy will be affectionately remembered by his nieces and nephews: Elizabeth, Martin, Geoffrey, Shirley, Stephanie, Carrie, Bonnie, Elliot, Stephen, Tiffany, Meghan, and more. He was a dear friend to Jim, Betsy, the Daniel family, Parry, Lawrence, Jimmy, Raju, Kenny, the Lam family, Yook, Pearl, Simon, Angela, David, Wayne, 'Muscles,' Balkie, Francis, and many more, and predeceased by friends Harold, Grace, John, Shirley, and Quai, and Ruthven. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Nisbett Funeral Home in Peterborough.
