Marie Elisabeth Lynne Newman of Perth, Ontario, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on February 20, 1940. Predeceased by her husband Leo Geroux of Carleton Place, her daughter Julie of Stittsville, her grandson Justin of Carleton Place, her parents Romeo and Bernadette, her brother Jacques, and her siblings‑in‑law Doug and Raymonde, she is survived by her siblings Suzanne and Emile, sister‑in‑law Anne Marie, nephews Ron (married to Lisa), Stephen, David (married to Kelly) and Roger (married to Harlan), daughter Kim, and friend Ann McCrae (married to Michael) of Toronto, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation was held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St W, Perth, ON. A Mass followed on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 38 Wilson St E, Perth, ON. Memorial contributions in her honour may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society.
