Marie Claudette Johnson died on August 13, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Johnson, her parents Robertine Proulx and Celestin Marchand, and her siblings Agnes Marchand, Rita MacIntyre, Blanche Brown, Norma Jivcoff, Clare, Charles, Roland, Paul and Jerome Marchand. Survivors include her children Cathy Brodie, Matt, Jeff, Jenny and Paul; her siblings John Marchand and Denise Moreau; her sister‑in‑law Rolene Marchand; and grandchildren Joel, Ben and Annie. Visitation will occur on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main St, Penetanguishene, ON. A funeral service follows at St. Ann's Church, 28 Robert St W, Penetanguishene, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with burial at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, 53 Owen St, Penetanguishene, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A reception will be held later that day at Thunder Beach Home, 41 East Beach Road, Tiny, BC. The family suggests memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Canada, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
