Sister Elizabeth Ann Howard

Sister Ann Howard passed away on June 28, 2026, at the age of 87, at the Pembroke Regional Hospital. She is survived by her sister, Mary McLellan; her brother, Jack; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Phyllis; her brother, Gary; and her sister, Margaret Maureen. Born in Pembroke on January 14, 1939, Sister Ann entered the Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception on September 12, 1958, and pronounced her final vows on August 14, 1963. A dedicated teacher, Sister Ann taught elementary school for 32 years in various locations, including Whitby, Pembroke, Windsor, Victoria Harbour, and the Dominican Republic. Following her retirement from teaching in 1994, she began her ministry in Whitby as a Pastoral Assistant at St. John the Evangelist Parish. Sister Ann spent her final retirement years in Pembroke, where she generously shared her gifts with the community. Visitation will be held at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke, on July 4, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Columba's Cemetery, with arrangements in the care of Neville Funeral Home.
