Jean Doris (nee Jennings) TATE
Jean Doris (nee Jennings) Tate passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford, Ontario, at the age of 85. She was the beloved and cherished wife of the late John Tate (July 2025). Jean was the loving mother of Katherine (Don), Terry (Suzanne), and Joey (Karen). She was a proud and devoted Gramma to Bryan (Cailynn), Shelby (Jim), Courtney, Devon, Dante, and Megan, and 'GG' to Brinley, Riley, Bryce, and Isabell. Jean was the dear sister of Betty Fletcher, and a 'Favourite' aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister-in-law to Carolyn (Gord) and Mary. Jean was predeceased by her brother Bob. She will be fondly remembered by her loyal companions, her cat Weazie and dog Rosie, who were a special part of her life. Jean worked alongside her husband John for over 40 years in the family business, Tate Auto Wreckers. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mom who cared deeply for her children and grandchildren. Jean also gave generously of her time as a volunteer with the Mammography Department at Brantford General Hospital and at the John Noble Home. She enjoyed her annual trips to Daytona Beach Bike Week and treasured many visits to Cape Cod. Jean also looked forward to her shopping trips to Buffalo, which always included a stop at Cracker Barrel. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Lee and the staff at the BGH Cancer Clinic for their care and support. Heartfelt appreciation is also extended to the compassionate team at Stedman Community Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. Friends will be received at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris, Ontario, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In Jean's memory, donations to the Brant County SPCA or Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
