Mervyn Emmerson WENZEL
Mervyn Emmerson Wenzel of Palmerston, and formerly of Wallace Township, passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in his 100th year. He was the husband of the late Fran Fotheringham, who died in 2024. Mervyn was born on July 21, 1926. He is survived by his sister Mildred Rivers of Woodstock, and sister Bernice Askett of Listowel, as well as his nieces and nephews, Calvin, Carol, Lorraine, Gereld, Ron, Murray, Bruce, Glen, Janice, Kevin, Gail, Brian, Karen, Gary, and Allan, and their families. He is also fondly remembered by Fran's family. Mervyn was predeceased by his parents, Addison and Ella Wenzel, siblings Marguerite Hartung, Ken Wenzel, Orville Wenzel, Earl Wenzel, and Gladys Gedcke, siblings-in-law Bill Rivers and Elwin Askett, niece Marie Woodliffe, and great-nephew Joseph. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with interment in Zion United Church Cemetery, Wallace Township, to follow.
