Matija "Mary" LOVRIĆ

Matija "Mary" Lovrić passed away on August 13, 2026, at Owen Sound Hospital, aged 78. She was the mother of John (married to Kimberly), Zora Crowder (married to Tim), and Lydia (married to Marc), and the sister of Ivica Bratanić. Mary is survived by her grandchildren Aidan, Evan, Delaney, Creighan, Brenner, Ethan and Ella-Marie. She was predeceased by her husband Jozo Lovrić, her parents Marija (née Jerković) and Jure Bratanić, her brother Ilko and her sister Iva. A former teacher in Croatia, Mary later served with the West Grey Police Service, where she was affectionately called "Mother Mary." Visitation will be held at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on August 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton, on August 27 at 10:00 a.m., with interment at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery and a luncheon reception thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation in her memory.
