Dr. Milton Bye

Dr. Milton Nelles Bye of Owen Sound passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on April 23, 1926, in Annan, Ontario, he dedicated his life to dentistry and community service. After graduating from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Dentistry in 1949, he established a prominent dental clinic in Owen Sound, practicing for over fifty years and serving as President of the Owen Sound Dental Society. Milton was an active member of Division Street United Church and supported various local organizations, including the Owen Sound Little Theatre and Georgian Bay Symphony. He was a passionate curler and golfer, achieving the remarkable feat of shooting his age at 83. Milton was married to Frances Buchanan in 1949, with whom he had two children, Nancy Bye (Harvey Wrightson) and Stephen Bye (deceased 2018). After Frances's passing in 1976, he married Jean Buchanan Tennant in 1977, and they enjoyed many happy years together, welcoming David (Jessie Ma), Christopher (Barbara), and Cathy (Bill Jeffery) into their family.
