Barbara May (Donaldson-Stennett) Strain
The family of Barbara May (Donaldson-Stennett) Strain of Owen Sound, Ontario, announces her passing on October 10, 2026. Born on November 29, 1925, Barbara is remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was predeceased by her parents, James Stennett and Hilda Stennett (Sturch); her former husband, James Donaldson; her husband, Thomas "Bud" Strain; and her siblings, Albert (Lois), James (Alma), Florence Bird (Allan), Ann, Homer (Barbara "Joan"), and William (Pauline). Barbara is survived by her sons, James (Vivian) and Robert; her grandchildren, Andrea Donaldson (Mitchell) and Robert John Donaldson (Steph); and her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Dominic, Tyler, Bella, Aubree, Tre, Maxx, Liliana, Emma, and Morgan. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brown Family Funeral Homes, located at 900 10th St W Suite 1, Owen Sound, ON N4K5R9. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM on the same day at the same location. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6.
