Viola Anne (McAllister) Halstead

Viola Anne (McAllister) Halstead passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 14, 1939, she was a beloved member of her family and community. Viola was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Lawrence Halstead, her parents, Percy McAllister and Gertrude McKinley, and her siblings: Leona (late Marc Hamelin), Theresa (Gregory Ryan), James (Donna Starling), Lewis (Nicole Chamberland), Helen (Wilfrid O'Donnell), and Dean. She is survived by her daughter, Shauna Halstead Salomone (Paul), stepdaughters Beth Weckman (Dave) and Cathy Neugebauer (late Gunter), grandchildren Andrew, Brenda Salomone, Andrea Weckman (Jess Jones), Nikki Weckman (Danny Burns), and Eric Neugebauer (Christa Thomas), great-grandchildren Theo and Gus, and her sister Mary, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Visitation will take place on October 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre. A Mass will be celebrated on October 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Basil's Catholic Church, followed by burial at Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of York Region or the Ryan's Well Foundation.
