Sylvia Joan (formerly Paterson) Kealey

Sylvia Joan Kealey (formerly Paterson) passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. She was a devoted mother to Susan Paterson, Kathy Paterson (Kumar), and Douglas Paterson (Pam). Sylvia took great pride in her role as grandmother to Courtney Bergin (Chris), Kelsey Bicher (Hamzeh), Jacob Saha (Nevin), and Adam, Brennan, and Caden Paterson. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to James and Jordan Bergin and AJ and Aaliyah Bicher. Sylvia was the daughter of the late Patrick J. Kealey and the late Aileen (nee Pegg), and she is survived by her brother Patrick Kealey (Margo) and predeceased by her sister Heather Berigan. Friends may visit the family at Whelan Funeral Home, 515 Cooper St., on Monday, August 31, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Resurrection of Our Lord Church on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed by refreshments in the parish hall. Interment will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in the Kealey family plot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
