Sylvestre Karorero

Sylvestre Karorero of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away on September 9, 2026. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his presence. Sylvestre is survived by his life partner, Janvière Kajeguhakwa, and his children, Yvette Nitunga (Ildephonse Niyongabo), Mireille Karorero (Aimable Kundukunze), David Karorero, Guy Karorero, and Bretta Gracia Uwamahoro. He was also a cherished grandfather to Shima Rugira Gabin, Intugane Gian Aaël, Noam Kanzie Kundukunze, Nolhan Kundukunze, Nael Kundukunze, Maeva Princesse Niyongabo, and Eloane Karorero. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Maison Funéraire Capitale, located at 3700 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K4M0T7. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Saint-Louis-Marie-De-Montfort Parish, 749 Trojan Ave, Ottawa, ON K1K2P5. In memory of Sylvestre, the family requests that donations be made to the Champlain Residence in Ottawa.
