Peter Charles Joyce

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter Charles Joyce, who departed this life on July 18, 2025, at the age of 76, in his home in Gloucester, Ontario. Born on May 22, 1949, in London, Ontario, he was the son of Alice and Lewis Joyce. Peter was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. A retired public servant, he held degrees in Soviet and East European Studies and English from Carleton University. Peter was passionate about history and storytelling, serving as a historian for the Communications Security Establishment and the Union of National Defence Employees, and contributing to Canadian Stories magazine. He is survived by his partner, Louise; daughter, Niky; son, Timothy; and grandchildren, Amelia and Nathan. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan; sister, Carole; and brothers, David and Michael. In accordance with his wishes, no memorial service will be held, but donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary.
