John S. Peddie

John S. Peddie, aged 79, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Gloria Goundrey for 55 years and a loving father to Lisa (Paul) and Lori (Brian). John was a proud grandfather to Dylan and Jordan and is survived by his cherished sister, Margaret (Melvin Thompson), along with one nephew and several nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Peddie and Lois McKell. John was born and raised on a dairy farm in Howick, Quebec, which he operated for 35 years before retiring to Ottawa to be closer to family. He found joy in watercolor painting, gardening, and playing Euchre. A service celebrating his life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Rothwell United Church, with a graveside burial on September 19, 2026, at Riverfield Cemetery in Howick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rothwell United Church or Riverfield Cemetery.
