Joan Ann Millet

Joan Ann Millet (Marchand) passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 79 at Maxville Manor in Maxville, Ontario. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and raised in Kempt Road, Richmond County, she later became a long-time resident of Nepean, Ontario. Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Godfrey (Sr.) and Retha (Samson) Marchand. A dedicated member of St. Monica Roman Catholic Parish, she served as an organist, choir member, and volunteered in various capacities. An avid gardener, Joan lovingly tended to the flower beds at St. Monica's. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Millet) Ranger, son-in-law Gabriel Ranger, and grandchildren Xavier, Christian, and Tristan, along with her brothers Godfrey (Noreen) and Ray (Mary Lou), sister Pat (John) Gaudet, and several nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Serge Daniel Millet, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Maxville Manor for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at St. Monica Roman Catholic Parish at a later date.
