James Philip Bruce

James Philip Bruce of Ottawa, Ontario, died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 97. He was born on September 29, 1928. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Winnifred Bruce, his sister Marnie Bruce, and his grandson Bruce. He is survived by his wife Ruth; his children Peggy Marcoux (married to Paul Marcoux), Peter Bruce (married to Barbara Soyka), Connie Bruce (married to Kearon Bennett), and Cathy Bruce (married to Paul Armstrong); his grandchildren Anique, Serge, Loïc, Sarah, Connor, Devon and Patrick; and seven great‑grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Tubman Funeral Homes – Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, ON K2H8H7, followed by a celebration of life from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an environmental charity of the family’s choosing.
