Elias Acar

Elias Acar of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 90. He was born on June 30, 1936. Elias is survived by his beloved spouse, Najwa Jeha, and their children, Viviane (Nader Hajjar), Nathalie (Eli Ayoub), and Gabriel. He cherished his granddaughter, Ellie Ayoub. Elias was predeceased by his brothers, Gaby (Lody Sadek) and Farah; Shahid (Sonia Wakim). He is also survived by his siblings, Dr. Ibrahim (Samia Farah), Nour, and Asma, along with his siblings-in-law, Mikhael (late Antoinette Salloum), Nicholas (Nassima Nassif), Farah (Farida Jeha), Nouhad (late Frank Laham), and Samia (Yakoub Doujeiji), as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Shields Funeral Homes & Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Saint Elias Cathedral, followed by a committal service and burial at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elias' memory to St. Elias Cathedral or Glebe Long-Term Care Facility would be appreciated.
