Dominic Joseph Smith

Dominic Joseph Smith of Ottawa, Ontario, was born on March 25, 1941, and died on August 19, 2026, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his children Raymond and Meaghan, his father Morley Smith, and his siblings Basil, Tom (who was married to Suzanne), and Mary (who was married to Hugh). Survivors include his children Jacob, Tara, Caleb (married to Claire), Sundance Jr., Katie (married to Cody) and Skyla (married to Tye); grandchildren Sabrina, Hailey, Blake, Scarlett and Maddison; his mother Hellen McCaffrey; and his siblings Clem (the late Doris), John (married to Helen), Ernie (married to Gail), Pat (married to Michele), Raymond (married to Jane), Tillie (married to Garry) and Helen (married to Greg). A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 166 Kedey Street, Ottawa, followed by a celebration of life at 12:30 p.m. at the Fitzroy Community Centre, 100 Clifford Campbell Street, Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint‑Vincent Hospital in memory of Sundance (Maurice) Smith.
