Zosia Hussey
Zosia Hussey passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family. Born and raised on the family farm in Newtonville, Ontario, Zosia enjoyed life with her parents, Anna and Dymitro, and her brother, Zory. She attended a local public school and high school in Port Hope. She worked on the farm and, as a teenager, on local tobacco farms in the area. In 1963, she was hired as a secretary by General Motors, where she met her future husband, Wayne. In 1965, they wed and, in 1967, moved into their house in Oshawa, a home she loved and lived in for the rest of her life. In 1974, they built a cottage on Drag Lake in Haliburton and enjoyed hosting family and friends. Zosia was a devoted wife to Wayne for 60 years, an incredibly dedicated and amazing mother who loved her son, Jimmy, her daughter, Kim and her son-in-law, Scott. She was a doting and very proud grandmother of Maddie, Kirstie and Sean. Zosia worked in retail and used her creativity and talent to make beautiful handmade toys and decorations in her craft business and for gifts. Her cooking and baking skills were legendary. Zosia will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friends she loved. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care.
