James Lindsay DRUMMOND
James Lindsay Drummond passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at the age of 93, with his loving daughter Wendy holding his hand. Born in Oshawa, Lindsay graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor's degree in applied science/chemical engineering and attended the Toronto Teachers' College at the University of Toronto. He began his teaching career in high school mathematics in Kitchener and spent most of his career teaching for Brant County, ending as head of the math department for Paris District High School. Lindsay is survived by his daughters Cathy Dieterle and her husband Robert, and their grandchildren Aaron, Michael, and Chris and his wife Linda, and great-grandchildren Rowan and Evan; Anne and her great-grandchildren Ian and Luke; Wendy Schwindt and her husband Craig, and their granddaughters Melanie and Stephanie; former spouse Marjorie Vernanne Drummond; brother Lawrence Drummond and his wife Betty; nieces Judy DeNure and her husband Ray, and their children Alex, Trevor, and Eliza; Linda Brewster and her husband Mark; nephews Robert Drummond and his children Matthew and Rachel; Timothy Nishimura; Peter Nishimura; sister Virginia Giza and her children Ardelle and Graeme. He was predeceased by his wife Marlene Drummond, sister Julia Nishimura, and son David Drummond. A celebration of life and reception will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Kitchener on Friday, April 10th, at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charities that Lindsay supported, including St. Stephen Church, Ray of Hope, One 4 Another, and House of Friendship, would be appreciated.
