Gerda Christa Heer

Gerda Christa Heer (nee Thierbach) passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 93, just one week shy of her 94th birthday. She was the devoted wife of the late Hugo (2018), and cherished mother to Rob (Bonnie) and Kim. Gerda was a loving and proud Oma to Matthew, Cooper, Andrew, Shawn, Trenton, and Arrow. Born in Flensburg, Germany, Gerda moved to Canada in 1955 and soon after met and married Hugo in December 1956. She enjoyed working with Hugo on their family cottage on Kennebec Lake, where they spent many summer holidays and weekends with family and friends. Gerda was a skilled seamstress, knitter, and master quilter, and enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, reading, and playing cards. She was predeceased by her husband Hugo. In keeping with her wishes, cremation and private family interment have taken place.
