He is predeceased by his parents, Edith and Samuel Shlanger; his brothers, Bob and Gary; and his brother-in-law, Butch. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; his children, Ian and Sari; his stepdaughters, Amanda and Chantel; his grandchildren, Joshua, Krishauna, Emylee, Trevon, Sarah, Tyler, Isaiah, and Aidan; and his nieces, Cindy, Patti, and Joey.
